What is Asset Management?

Property asset managers oversee the income, performance and long-term value of properties on behalf of their owners. They set a strategy for each asset that supports the owner’s investment objectives.

What does the work involve?

Teams review leasing, expenditure, capital requirements and market opportunities, then translate their findings into an asset business plan. Decisions may involve renewing leases, upgrading a building, repositioning a property or considering a sale.

Leasing agents, property managers and facilities teams support delivery and daily operations. Asset managers assess whether changes to rents, occupancy, costs and tenant mix are improving investment performance.
