What is Development?
Property developers turn sites and ideas into completed projects. They bring together land acquisition, planning, design, finance and construction to deliver places that meet market demand and commercial objectives.
What does the work involve?
Teams assess demand, costs, funding and risk to establish whether a project is financially viable. They then coordinate specialist advisers and contractors through planning, design, construction and delivery.
Projects range from residential communities and apartments to offices, industrial estates and mixed-use precincts. A developer coordinates the commercial outcome; a builder delivers construction. Some businesses perform both roles.
