What is Property Valuation?

Property valuers provide an independent opinion of a property’s value at a particular date and for a specified purpose. Their conclusions support decisions such as lending, purchases, sales and financial reporting.

What does the work involve?

Valuers combine inspections, market research and financial analysis. They assess comparable transactions alongside a property’s location, condition, leases, income and risks, applying approaches suited to the asset and assignment.

A valuation report explains the evidence, methods, assumptions and limitations behind the conclusion. Assignments can cover homes, commercial buildings, development sites and specialist assets.
